i'm sorry its been so hard
all these years for you
i worry what a toll
it might have taken on you
but trust me,
i dint intend it
i dint even realise
what was happening to me,
what it was doing to you
what it was talking away from us...

i cannot begin to imagine
what would have gone
through your mind
all this time...
what a nightmare
to see your person hide
behind shadows
you didn't quite recognise...

so i ask you today...
can we start over,
you and me
with a fresh perspective
once again
write our destiny
pretend all this never happened
that we never missed out on each other
as though we were born right this moment
so we could open our eyes to this world, together...
